I must confess I debated rewriting bits of the Gikii presentation after hearing your mesh networks stuff in Durham. Definitely, work on it - I think the argument you made is much more important now than it was the first time around, given the state of the political debate and various other things (OLPC's design, muni wifi, the neutrality squabble, etc).
